The Artist
Skye Beck
I’m a Pacific Northwest based artist specializing in taxidermy art that combines bones, skulls, butterflies, florals, and moss into thoughtfully composed pieces. I grew up in North Dakota and later moved to the PNW in my teens, earning my degrees an AAS in Multimedia Communications Graphic Design and AAS in Web and Interactive Design in 2020. My background in design plays a big role in how I approach balance, texture, and composition in my work.
I started collecting bones about 8 years ago, and 7 years ago I learned how to properly clean and process animals/bones myself. That hands-on experience deepened my respect for the materials I use and the natural cycles they come from. I’ve been creating taxidermy art for about five years, though I’ve been making art in various forms since I was a kid.
I’m drawn to the kind of beauty that isn’t always immediately obvious. My work focuses on highlighting the detail, structure, and quiet elegance found in natural remains — presenting them in a way that feels intentional, respectful, and balanced.
Outside of the studio, I love hiking, going to concerts, spending time with my two cats and my dog, and finding new inspiration in nature. What started as a personal interest slowly grew into a business I genuinely love, and I’m grateful to share it with others who connect with this style of art.
